When I was a kid I used to be obsessed with cherry lime aid fountain drinks from Sonic Burger. Yes, that super sugary, refreshing drink! I probably wouldn't drink them now, but I absolutely used to love them as a kid. I remember getting one every day after my volleyball practice. I'm not quite sure how those sugary drinks made me hydrated back then, Lol! But I somehow convinced my mom that they did.
Today, I would substitute that sugary drink for some coconut water or this alternative-my new Cherry Chia Limeade Smoothie to fulfill that sweet cherry-limeade craving. Cherries are really great for you and high in antioxidants. Sweet cherries contain fiber, vitamin C, carotenoids, and anthocyanins, each of which may help play a role in cancer prevention.
For this recipe, I used fresh cherries, pineapple, lemon, and lime and added some chia seeds at the end. I did try to pit most of the cherries, but got tired! So some cherries had seeds, but my blend tech did a good job of blending all of the seeds very finely and couldn't taste them at all! #goteamblendtec

Who am I and do why write this blog? Each time I ask myself that question, I find that I have so much more to learn and discover. "Who am I" is an ongoing process, and just when we think we've figured it out, life has its way of throwing us a ton of curve balls-but that's why its called a journey.
