When I was a kid I used to be obsessed with cherry lime aid fountain drinks from Sonic Burger. Yes, that super sugary, refreshing drink! I probably wouldn't drink them now, but I absolutely used to love them as a kid. I remember getting one every day after my volleyball practice. I'm not quite sure how those sugary drinks made me hydrated back then, Lol! But I somehow convinced my mom that they did. Today, I would substitute that sugary drink for some coconut water or this alternative-my new Cherry Chia Limeade Smoothie to fulfill that sweet cherry-limeade craving. Cherries are really great for you and high in antioxidants. Sweet cherries contain fiber, vitamin C, carotenoids, and anthocyanins, each of which may help play a role in cancer prevention. For this recipe, I used fresh cherries, pineapple, lemon, and lime and added some chia seeds at the end. I did try to pit most of the cherries, but got tired! So some cherries had seeds, but my blend tech did a good job of blending all of the seeds very finely and couldn't taste them at all! #goteamblendtec Cherry-Chia Limeade Smoothie: Cherries, Pineapple, Lime, Chard & Chia Seeds

This is one of my sweeter smoothie recipes that I make for 2 year- old niece. (Check out her cute little face! I melt every time!). I'm still trying to slowly integrate her into veggie smoothies. My brother and his wife are really good about getting her to drink them smoothies with them. They always give her 3-4 0z or so when they drink theirs (start them young!) That beings said, she still hasn't adjusted to my 80/20 veggie to fruit ratio, which tends to be less sweet and an acquired taste. So when I make her a smoothie (and newer smoothie goers), I tend switch up the recipe to make it sweeter. Using almond milk also tends to make smoothies sweeter. I also enjoy sweeter smoothies when I am looking to fulfill my sweet cravings and need to put the chocolate down :-) Mango, Orange, Cucumber, Spinach & Cilantro Smoothie
Spring is Finally here!! We all know it's been a very long, painful winter; which means I have been anxiously waiting for a while to play with spring and tropical fruits. This week, I chose Kiwi and Passion Fruit as my inspiration for my Tropical Green Smoothie. The passion fruit and kiwi compliment each other well for a nice, sweet and tart taste. This smoothie is refreshing and packed with lots of Vitamin C and potassium. I like bananas, but they don't sit well with my ayurvedic body type, so kiwi and passion fruit are great alternative sources of potassium. Runners drink up! Both are super freshening and very hearty. The citrus flavor of the grapefruit compliments the pineapple and fennel (my new favorite veggie) really well. Hope you like them as much as I do! Enjoy. What is Maca and Why Is It Good For Me? Maca powder is a great superfood that is getting a lot of attention right now. Maca is root that is native to Andes Mountains and used by the Incas and Purivians. It has been highly regarded for centuries as a magical herb, known to help boost immunity, fertility and libido, and many more things. And the best thing is that it has a chocolate-malty flavor, which is nice and adds a great kick to your smoothies. Try my "Chai-Maca" smoothie recipe. It's my interpretation of what a chai smoothie should be-full of spicy, chocolatey goodness and it's great for you! Enjoy! Chai-Maca Superfood Smoothie Recipe: Ingredients:
